My name is Devin T. Adams and I am happy to announce that I am running for Vice President, Class of 2011. I have decided to run for Vice President because the next two years here at the Academy must be better than the first two years. I have served as the Class Committee chairman and Co-Chairman of the Class Ring and Crest Committee alongside Dan White during our first term. In this position I have worked for our class and directly for our Class VP. Not only do I understand the rigors of making class events successful, but I have the experience needed to make our last two years even more successful than the first.
Every member of 2011 deserves the best representation and I am able to provide that representation. In our Cow and Firstie years, the role of Class Vice President must be to ensure that matters pertaining to the class are well-planned and to ensure the Class President is provided with a capable organizer and planner, and that an exceptional job is done on behalf of every member of the Class of 2011. I ask you to join with me and make our next two years at the Academy better than our first two: DEVIN T FOR VP!!
As Vice President, I plan to first and foremost provide assistance and guidance to our Class President but to also address and resolve specific issues, to include, but not limited to:
CLASS WEEKENDS
We have had two highly successful class weekends thus far, but the fun has only just begun. With 500th night, Ring Weekend, and 100th night all ahead of us, I am committed to getting interesting and successful speakers to our banquets. Our class deserves to hear from the best and I will work my hardest to make this happen. DEVIN T FOR VP!!
PRIVILEGES
Thus far in our academy careers, the Class of 2011 has managed to have the best reputation amongst the Brigade Tactical Department and with the Commandant, Dean, and Supe. I am committed to capitalizing on this reputation and securing as many privileges and exceptions as I can for our class. I plan to propose an initiative to change the rules of when Cows may have cars here on post to after Christmas break rather than after Spring Break. Also, I plan to make a push for full year civilian clothes cow year. We have heard nothing but glowing reports about our class since plebe year. This is a team effort and I know our class is up to the challenge of continued excellence. DEVIN T FOR VP!
CLASS UNITY
As a result of scrambling our class has gotten the opportunity to split from the familiar scenes of plebe year and be thrust into a brand new situation. This has been an overall good thing for our class as it affords us an opportunity to maintain the friendships from our plebe year companies but also to forge new ones in out new academic companies. My plan as a Vice President hopeful is to hold a class event such as a Barbeque, Tailgate, Party, etc. once per semester for the remainder of our academy career.
